The How To... And More How NOT To Move Post

I am officially having one of those weeks.....
A lot is going on.....
Too much really...
So I am gonna be brief today...

You see I am busy moving.....
Packing up the car...
Clearing out the shed....

And conveniently.... somehow combining both those things?

Whatever...
You see to be honest ...
I'm not someone who needs to pack all neat and organized.
No way....

Im more of a  "lets just get this nightmare done" kinda packer...
Probably like this fellow "time-efficient packer".

Cause after many moves in my life....
the key to a good move is....
just getting it over with!
No matter what it takes....

Cause really if you think about it ....
You can always finish that load of laundry at the new place.....

So just get it done is what I always tell myself.
Seriously!
And pack as much as you freekin can...

Then move it all.
Now.... I think we all should remember....
that packing is really just a game of BALANCE!

So in order to get ready for your big move....

Maybe play some jenga or something the day before the move....

Practice your balance.....

Practice at lunch.....

Practice under extreme circumstances.

Practice on the dog.... with his dog treats...
He probably wont like this.... but come on hes a dog!
What else is he gonna be doing?

Or just plain practice with your lover.... which is highly recommended...
Though not at all what the Hasbro corporation had in mind when creating "a family friendly block game!"

Man how did we get so far off track?
Oh ya packing.....
And balance.....
And moving....
Right.... lets get back to it....

Shall we?

Now obviously no matter how well you pack...... sometimes things can and will go wrong....

For example... maybe you attract some unwanted attention.....

Well its like I always say
"just calmly tuck the legs back inside the trunk"
And you'll be fine...

Oh here's the bonus helpful moving tip of the day!!!

(Use rugs next time on the bodies dummy!!!!)

Thats what this guy did.....
And reviewed it as "Really really not bike-friendly"

But whatever..... maybe your not like me...
And you are more of a planner...
Maybe you even rented movers?

But.... the move still doesn't go quite as planned?

And the movers don't end up "providing the service" they advertized!

Maybe its all just become a total disaster....

Well their really is only one answer.......
Cause this is your move....

You need to take things back into your own hands.....
And fix this....

You need to "get this move over stupid!!!"
Well.....

I strongly recommend this.....
And its brilliant.....
You simply need to...

Stack your crap even higher!!!!

Seriously!!!

Get the whole move done
in one single "hope for no wind" kinda trip!

And everything will turn out fine!
Trust me.
 I promise!
And you'll see..... the whole family will thank you!

 Even the baby....

Anyways I'm off to pack the couch on the other couch on the chair on the table on the...

blog ya'll later

  1. Funny, but these photos look like people are seriously packing this way and that kinda makes me question people's intelligence. Have a great week.

  2. LOL really really not bike-friendly cracked me up. That dog has some skills. I've moved so many damn times I hate it. But i can get it done in an hour, basically do what you do. Put the stuff on the chair, the chair on the couch and then make some poor sap lift it..LOL

  3. i moved one time and left all my furniture in the apartment. i called them from india and told them they could take this call as a 30 day notice and either rent the place furnished or charge me for the removal. i never heard back so i guess they rented it as furnished.

and another funny move story, one time after deciding to move we took all the unwanted furniture and threw it off the third floor balcony into the parking lot, picked up all the pieces and had kindling for a bon fire...

remember beer helps to keep you from hurting your back. happy moving.

  4. I hate people on bikes. They scare the hell out of me at night when I nearly run them down. But, hey, good ol' Steve knows exactly what I need to do. Thanks, buddy!

  5. TOTALLY AWESOME!!
We helped my sister unpack once, and we found the hotsauce, salt and pepper, thrown in the box with her socks, underwear and bras.....

She just got it over with.

  7. I really hope the people with the baby got pulled over! It's terrifying to think that they are actively breeding!!!

  13. This was how we moved Brandon back from Chicago. You'd be surprised how many refrigerators a Subaru Forester can hold (4, the answer is 4. And don't ask why he has all of those. We all knew he had an alcohol problem).

  14. Yep! This is the only way to move! Done it many times...without getting pulled over or losing a load!
